Royal Vegas Casino has been successfully operating since 2000, and up until May 2018, it was managed and controlled by the Fortune Lounge Group. Since then it’s been taken over and is now part of the same group which operates several other popular Canadian online casinos such as Jackpot City, Gaming Club, Lucky Nugget, River Belle, and numerous other casino brands.
It’s my favourite place to play and I first opened my account here more than six years ago. Royal Vegas Casino is one of those casinos that I always find myself visiting more often than any other Canadian online casino. Find out exactly why I’ve chosen to put this casino at the top of the list above all of the other online casinos that are featured on this website.
First of all, there's the huge welcome bonus that let's new players potentially claim up to as much as C$1,200 in free bonus cash. This generous welcome bonus is spread out over your first four deposits, and it enables you to double up to the value of C$300 on each of your first four deposits. Just remember that before you can cash out any winnings that you’ve made, your welcome bonus money must be wagered at least 50x times.
Royal Vegas Casino is packed with an exciting range of more than 800 games from Microgaming and also from Microgaming's partner companies – Just for the Win Studios, Rabcat, Triple Edge Studios, Fortune Factory Studios, Slingshot Studios, Foxium, All41 Studios, Crazy Tooth Studio, and Stormcraft Studios, plus they also now have live dealer games from Evolution Gaming. The friendly support is only ever a click away and you can enjoy playing here either on desktop or on mobile.
As a result of rigorous testing I’ve conducted on Royal Vegas Casino, me and my co-workers here at TopCasino.ca have ranked their casino #2 out of 30+ in total that have been reviewed here at TopCasino.ca.
The Things I Like About Playing at Royal Vegas
Royal Vegas Casino currently offers one of the best new player welcome bonuses for Canadian players.
The welcome bonus is great for new players, but this is just one of many factors that led me to the conclusion in ranking Royal Vegas Casino #2 of 30+ online casinos that we’ve reviewed and rated for you right here on this website.
Take a look at some of the most important factors that led to this decision:
1. Solid Welcome Bonus for New Players
The welcome bonus at Royal Vegas Casino invites all new players from Canada to claim up to as much as C$1,200 in free bonus cash. This multi-tiered sign up bonus is actually spread out over your first four deposits and on each of those deposits you can double up. Each deposit match bonus that you can claim on those first four deposits is worth up to C$300.
As soon as you make a deposit, the bonus cash should instantly be credited to your account. No bonus codes are required whatsoever and there’s no point depositing any more than you need to because you will still only get a maximum of C$300 per deposit. The Royal Vegas Casino welcome bonus currently works as follows:
- Deposit 1: Deposit C$300 and Get C$300
- Deposit 2: Deposit C$300 and Get C$300
- Deposit 3: Deposit C$300 and Get C$300
- Deposit 4: Deposit C$300 and Get C$300
Highlights From Royal Vegas Bonus Terms and Conditions:
The best thing to do before accepting any online casino bonus would be to read through the terms and conditions, to ensure that you don't miss out. I have picked out some of the most important bonus terms and have jotted them down for you right here for you. You can also read the full Royal Vegas Casino welcome bonus T's & C's by clicking here.
1. You have just seven days after your new account has been activated to claim your welcome bonus.
2. Upon accepting the bonus, your free bonus cash will be credited to your new account as soon as you have made a successful deposit.
3. Before it can be transferred from your bonus balance to your cash balance and before any withdrawals can be made, your bonus money must be wagered at least 50x times. Therefore if you deposit the full C$300 on your first ever deposit, you would need to wager $15,000 (50 x $300) to complete the wagering requirements.
4. Don't forget that only certain games will contribute more than others towards completing your wagering requirements, which can be frustrating, but once it's done, it's done. The games to avoid when trying to complete your wagering requirements are Sic Bo, Red Dog, Craps and Baccarat because these contribute 0% towards completing them. The contribution percentage varies a great deal for different game types as follows:
- 100% All Slots, Keno & Scratch Card Games (Re-spins on slots count for 10%)
- 8% All table pokers, all Roulettes, all video/power Pokers (excluding All Aces and Jacks or Better video pokers), all Blackjacks (excluding Classic Blackjack) and Casino War.
- 2% Classic Blackjacks, All Aces video pokers and all Jacks or Better video pokers.
- 0% All Baccarats, all Craps, Red Dog, Sic Bo and all gameplay on MPV (Multiplayer Tournaments).
5. You also really need to be aware of the fact that the Gamble Feature on all Slots or the Double Feature on all Video/Power Pokers will NOT count towards completing your playthrough requirements. It also states in the T’s and C’s that “If you play on the excluded games (0%) before meeting the playthrough requirements, then you agree that the casino holds the right to void any winnings made from these games at our discretion."
2. One of the Oldest Online Casinos - Established in 2000
You'd be surprised at the number of online casinos that have been operating for 15-20 years or more, just like Royal Vegas Casino, but in most cases you will find that many of these old-timers have been left to decay and have still not quite managed to get things right after all this time. Royal Vegas Casino is quite the exception though.
This casino has been through several changes since its inception and the sheer length of time that this casino has been operating has given people more time to examine the casino thoroughly. Ever since I first signed up to the casino, I have been more than pleased with the services they offer. I’ve never really needed to play anywhere else because Royal Vegas Casino has almost everything I need under one roof. This is why it consistently ranks at #2 out of 30+ on this website. Check out what this casino used to look like in 2007 below.
Today you can visit pretty much any reputable website that reviews world-class online casinos and you’ll find that the majority of these sites share similar positive opinions to my own. You can also find lots of player feedback on these casino review sites and on forums and there are numerous blogs about Royal Vegas casino, which also tend to be on the positive side. Over the years Royal Vegas Casino has gained a solid reputation, and you really can't go wrong if you decide to play here at one of the world's oldest online casinos.
3. Professionally Trained Player Support
One of the other things that I love about this casino is that their 24 hour, toll-free player support is always quick to respond. You're generally never waiting in a queue which is often the case at some online casinos, and the support agents seem to always respond immediately after you ask them a question.
From my experience, I have found that some online casino support agents will juggle several conversations at once and they can take ages to respond between questions. You won't get any of this kind of nonsense here at Royal Vegas Casino. I prefer using the live chat feature because it's so convenient and all the questions that I've ever put to the professionally trained support agents in the past have always been answered in seconds.
The support doesn't try and plug you the latest bonus offer and they get normally straight to the point. They're really friendly and it's always been a pleasurable experience chatting with the live chat agents. There is also a 24 hour, toll-free telephone number which some of you may find useful should you ever need to get in touch with the casino, but I think I'll always stick to using the live chat support method.
I always thought that the minimum deposit amount at Royal Vegas Casino was C$20, but when a friend told me that it was just C$10, I quickly contacted the support via live chat just to double-check and it turns out that my friend was indeed correct. Check out this transcript that I took a screenshot of, which confirmed what my friend told me.
4. Fast Deposit & Withdrawal Times
What I can't understand about some online casinos is why it takes so long to process withdrawals. However, at Royal Vegas Casino the withdrawals times are super-fast. I tend to deposit and withdraw here using my Visa debit card, but there are lots more reliable Canadian online payment options to choose from. Deposits tend to be processed instantly and I’ve found that when I withdraw, the funds are usually in my bank account by the next day.
Although it says that it can take up to 48 hours for withdrawals to be processed, you will find that it only takes this long when you attempt to withdraw just after business closing times on a Friday evening (or on a weekend). While Canadian players may not have access to e-Wallets such as Skrill or NETELLER, there are plenty of other reliable payment options to choose from such as Interac, credit & debit cards and Instadebit. If you're like me and can't wait to get your hands on your winnings, you're going to love how quick the withdrawal times are at Royal Vegas Casino.
5. More Than 800 Games to Choose From
Since I first signed up to Royal Vegas Casino there has always been a comprehensive portfolio of more than 650 Microgaming games to choose from. Now, several years later, there are more than 800 games to choose from with new ones arriving all the time. You can also now find an even more diverse range of games from Microgaming’s new partner companies - Just for the Win Studios, Rabcat, Triple Edge Studios, Fortune Factory Studios, Slingshot Studios, Foxium, All41 Studios, Crazy Tooth Studio and Stormcraft Studios. The live dealer casino games used to be supplied by Microgaming, but now they are supplied by Evolution Gaming - the world's leading producer of live dealer casino games. Check out the live dealer casino lobby in this image below.
The live dealer games are only available in the real money mode, so make sure that you have enough in your account before entering this exciting part of the casino. Here you can find some amazing live games such as Live Casino Hold’em, Live Blackjack, Live Roulette and Live Baccarat. If you’re like me then you will also love the newer live dealer game alternatives such as Live Dream Catcher, Live Super Sic Bo, Live Monopoly and Live Deal or No Deal.
I find it really easy to navigate the main games lobby because everything is nicely compartmentalized and the good news is that all of the other games at Royal Vegas Casino, including the slots, the video poker games and the table & card games, are available in the free play demo mode too (not just in the real money mode). To practice on a game in the free play mode you only need to hover over a game and then click on the demo button. Just make sure that your Flash player is up to date and enabled before loading any of the games.
If you've got a stable internet connection you should find that most of the games will take just seconds to launch. There are hundreds of slots to choose from and some of the most famous online slots in the world can now be found here. You can also play to win life-changing jackpots on a daily basis here at Royal Vegas Casino.
The Things I don't Like About Playing at Royal Vegas
Although Royal Vegas Casino is ranked at #2 on this website, there are still a couple of things that I’d love to see changed.
1. Weekly Withdrawals are Capped at C$4,000
I've never really understood why online casinos have withdrawal limits, especially such low amounts. For example, at Royal Vegas Casino (just like many other online casinos today) the maximum amount that you can withdraw per week is capped at C$4,000. Although it has never personally affected me because I have never attempted to withdraw more than C$4,000, I'm sure that some players who have won big cash prizes have been annoyed by this restrictive limit.
I think the most I ever tried to withdraw was C$2,400 and I never encountered any problems when I withdrew this amount. However, I would hate to only be able to withdraw C$4,000 per week, especially if I won somewhere in the region of C$50,000 or more. Don't forget; it's not only Royal Vegas Casino that has this weekly withdrawal limit. Many other online casinos have a similar policy in place.
2. Only Has Games From Microgaming
Back in the day, Royal Vegas Casino only ever had games from Microgaming. However, over the past few years, the operator of this casino has gradually diversified its gaming content since partnering with several new & independent game studios. Not only has this increased the number of available games, it has also given players an even broader range of games to enjoy playing on.
But saying that, I would still love to see a wider choice of games from even more of the world's leading online casino software providers such as NetEnt, Playtech and Red Tiger Gaming. I’d also personally love to see games from Blueprint Gaming, Quickspin, IGT Interactive, WMS Gaming, Yggdrasil Gaming, Thunderkick, ELK Studios and Pragmatic Play, to mention just a few notable providers.
Would I Recommend Royal Vegas Casino?
I certainly do.
Royal Vegas Casino remains at the top of my list for a variety of reasons. This well-established online casino is controlled by a responsible owners with a proven track record in the online gambling industry, so it’s definitely a place that you can trust.
Royal Vegas Casino has changed somewhat over the years, but for the better, and it always seems to be on the up which is why I keep on coming back here to play time and time again. The user-friendly website is really easy to use, and there are hundreds of fast-loading games to suit all tastes. Don't forget that on top of your massive new player welcome bonus, you'll also get 2,500 FREE loyalty points just to get you started when you sign up here!
I have played on mobile at Royal Vegas Mobile Casino quite a few times, but I definitely prefer playing at the desktop version of the casino. I always feel comfortable and have a good time playing at this casino and I’m fairly certain that you're going to love playing here too. Apart from the relatively low weekly withdrawal limits, there are no other obvious downsides to this casino. Check out this top-rated #2 ranked online casino today to see what you think.
